Considered a loyal family pet and adaptable to most environments, the Cairn terrier is active and enjoys a playful lifestyle.
We strive to breed dogs that not only have excellent conformation, but have exceptional temperaments and are able to do the job they were bred for.

Most of our dogs have multiple titles including Show, Earth Dog and Lure Coursing.

All our puppies are raised in the home, using Puppy Culture Methods.
Puppy Culture is a complete program of over 50 lessons from whelping box to new home that is scientifically proven to greatly improve outcomes for puppies and includes:

Puppies are able to leave for their forever homes from 8 weeks of age, and come liver shunt tested, vaccinated, microchipped, registered with Dogs Australia, 6 weeks free pet insurance and up to date on flea and worming treatments.

Occasionally we have older dogs available to approved homes.
Older retired show dogs are a great way of getting a purebred dog, without going through the puppy stage. They come sterilized, house trained, with basic training and manners, and full of love to give.

All our dogs come with a folder of handy health, care and training information, and a lifetime of support.

If for any reason you can no longer keep your Cairn Terrier for whatever reason, we will happily help you find a new home, or take the dog back.
​
We are happy to sell to other breeders, or to mentor new people wishing to show or work their Cairn.

Wait lists & Pricing​

Our puppies are highly sort after and as such we have a waiting list of people
wanting to add a Ffortuna Cairn to their homes. First pick from each litter is reserved for our breeding program. Our waiting list works on a first come first served basis once you have filled out an application form and we have made sure a Cairn Terrier is the right fit for you. Then once we have a litter, we will be in touch. We don’t generally place puppies based on coat colour preference but rather try to match the right personalities to the right homes. Our current wait list is about 12months. Please note, filling in an application form doesn't guarantee the availability of puppy, or a spot on the waitlist. We are very selective with who we entrust one of our Cairns with and screen potential homes very carefully.

The aim of our puppy pricing policy is to be as fair as possible to everyone on our list awaiting their precious new puppy. Backed by the latest science and years of experience, we do all we can to ensure your puppy will be a healthy and enjoyable family companion.
​Our policy on pricing is as follows:
1. Price quoted to you in your first email from us will be the price you pay for your puppy provided that:
2. Your deposit securing your place on our waiting list is received within 7 days of receiving an acceptance email, and
3. You accept the first puppy you are offered that conforms to the preferences you sated on joining the list. If you postpone to a later litter for any reason the price you will pay will be in accord with the prices current at the time you postponed.
4. When you are offered a puppy from a new litter and decide to accept your placement in that litter, an additional payment of $1000 toward the purchase price is required within 3 days of acceptance. The remaining balance is payable when your puppy is 8 weeks and 4 days old (the usual day you pick your puppy up).
5. We are under no obligation to notify you of changes to our prices. However, we are happy to answer your inquiries at any time.
6. If a price rise affects you that you consider unacceptable to your expectations or circumstances, we will promptly refund 100% of your deposit if you request this.

Our policy on deposits is as follows:
1. Your position on the list is strictly determined by the date the waiting list deposit is received.
2. If we are unable to provide a puppy for you in the time-frame estimated in our first email to you, and you wish to leave the list, you are entitled to a fast and complete refund.
3. If you cancel your placement on the list for any reason we will refund your deposit minus $100 admin fee.
4. If you cancel your placement on the list after being allocated and accepting a puppy your payment(s) to date is/ are non-refundable but will be held for you as a credit on your next puppy from us.
